EMORY, Va.--- The Maroons tied with Covenant College for 13th place this past weekend in the Emory Spring Invitational. Roanoke shot a team two day total of 646 (+86), while Greensboro College (+42) upset Methodist University (+46) to win the event.
Roanoke's, Rob Pepi (Huntington, NY, Walt Whitman)set the bar again for the Maroons as he finished in a tie for 35th with a two day individual score of 158. Pepi shot a first round 81 before dropping four strokes for a second day 77. Just three strokes behind Pepi was Brandon Ketron (Abingdon, VA, Abingdon)who went 83, 78 for a tournament score of 161, placing him in a tie for 48th. Casey Fallon (Newburyport, MA, The Gunnery)and Patrick Guzi (Goodview, VA, Staunton River)finished with scores of 163, and 164 respectively after shooting 84 in the first round.
The Maroons finish up the season this weekend as the ODAC Championship gets under way at Bay Creek Resort and Club in Cape Charles, Va. Practice round is April 17th with the final round to be played on April 20th.
