Roanoke Places Fourth at Tom Kindler Memorial
The Roanoke men's golf team finished fourth at the Tom Kindler Memorial over the weekend. Five other ODAC teams attended, among them was Bridgewater, which won the Invitational.
The Maroons finished with a two-round score of 604 with a 299 in the first round. Adam Skaff (Charleston, WV, Charleston Catholic) led Roanoke with a score of 143, tying with Joe Ruzick from Thomas More College for third-place individually. Brandon Ketron (Abingdon, VA, Abingdon) tied at 17th with Keith Mazurek from McDaniel College for a combined score of 152.
Patrick Guzi (Goodview, VA, Staunton River) and Freshman Rob Pepi (Huntington, NY, Walt Whitman) both improved their scores by two and one strokes, respectively, on the second day of the tournament. Peter Weisel (Montclair, NJ, Montclair Kimberley Academy) stayed consistent and finished with the same score both days as he shot a 77 for a combined score of 154.
The golf team will travel to Hampden-Sydney for an invitational September 27-29.
