Roanoke Places 12th at Hampden-Sydney Invitational
FARMVILLE, Va. --- Roanoke finished 12th this past weekend at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational. Only four golfers from the Roanoke team attended the meet. The Invitational was highly competitive as three teams tied for the championship.
Casey Fallon and Stephen Soltis led the Maroons, tying with a score of 169 for 24th place. Gregory Morgan and Fallon also improved their scores in the second round by three points and one point respectively.
Tyler Chocklett came in behind them with a combined score of 176. Chocklett had the most dramatic improvement of the Maroons from the first to second round in the Invitational. He improved his score by eight strokes in the latter round of the tournament.
The golf team will travel to Ashland, VA for the Ted Keller Invitational October 2-4.
