Senior golfer Brandon Kentron and senior men's lacrosse player Joey Coretti were named Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Player of the Week in their respective sports announced Monday night. It is the first time in both players' careers that they garnered the weekly conference honor.

Ketron, a senior from Abingdon, Va., was the low medalist on the Scarlet Course in the consolation bracket at Camp LeJeune this past weekend, which placed him as the best-finishing ODAC competitor in the field. Ketron fired three sub-70 rounds during the three round affair (all teams play one round on each the Gold and Scarlet courses in the first two rounds). He opened with a 3-under 69 on the par 72 Gold Course (7,040 yards), and followed that with a 2-under 68 on the par 70 Scarlet Course (6,120 yards).

The Maroons as a team did not qualify as one of the top-16 teams to play in the championship bracket for round three. Ketron, meanwhile, stayed hot as he went under par for the third-straight round with a 1-under 69 on the Scarlet Course to finish with a 6-under-par 206, two shots clear for Scarlet medalist honors.

Coretti, a senior from East Grand Rapids, Mich., led the Maroons to a pair of wins last week with 15 combined points. In a 16-5 triumph over Christopher Newport, Coretti scored six goals and dished out one assist while collecting a pair of ground balls. He followed that with a half-dozen more goals and two more assists in a 21-10 ODAC win over Virginia Wesleyan. He picked up two more grounders and forced a turnover in the effort.

The Maroons, who are ranked 13^th in the nation (USILA), are currently 7-3 overall, 2-1 in the ODAC. They will host Randolph College this Saturday, April 7 at 2 p.m. at Kerr Stadium.
