Golf Team Takes Sixth in VSGA Virginia State Intercollegiate
DANVILLE - The Roanoke College golf team took sixth place in the VSGA Virginia State Intercollegiate, hosted at Danville Golf Club on September 29-30.

The Maroons' score of 624 tied Lynchburg College for sixth. Averett University took the team title by shoting 585 (+25). Virginia Wesleyan's John Dozier III won the individual award, as he was the only person to shoot under par for the two days (137, -3).

Roanoke's Robert Scott was the low-shooter for the team, finishing with a two day total of 152 (+12) to tie for 19th place. Will Retain (+14) and Brent Jernigan (+15) finished in 23rd and 26th, respectively. William Brown shot a two day total of 163 (+23) to tie for 38th. Over the tournament Jake Prater shot 85-88 for a total of 173 (+33).

The Maroons return to action on October 6-7 as they play in the Ted Keller Memorial, hosted by Randolph-Macon College.
