The Lead: Roanoke College traveled to Williamsburg to compete in the, 11-team, Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial Tournament. The two-day event was hosted by the Apprentice School and played at the, 6,800, par 72, Williamsburg Club. After day one, the Maroons found themselves in third place following a day that featured temperatures in the 40's with 15-25 mph wind. Day two would see Roanoke shoot an almost identical, 326, score in similar conditions for a fourth-place finish. Tournament champion #8 Christopher Newport posted a winning total of 602.

How it Happened:

  • Day one: Freshman Palmer Cuny battled the weather to post a 6-over 78. Fellow Freshman Sean Furlong came in at 7-over 79, making it a pair of Maroons in the top 15. TJ Whelan and Will Abdi rounded out the scoring after 18-holes of play.  
  • Day two: Cuny backup his day one performance with a 7-over 79 to finish in a tie for seventh in the 62-golfer field. Whelan improved four strokes to card an 80 while Will Clary moved up the leaderboard with an 83.

Up Next: Roanoke will travel to North Carolina the first week of April when they travel to Camp Lejeune to compete in the 2022 Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate.
