Roanoke ranked fifth in USILA and Lax.com Div. III Men's Lacrosse National Poll

Roanoke men's lacrosse is ranked fifth in the latest USILA and Lax.com Div. III National poll announced this morning. They move up four spots from last week's #9 ranking and have been ranked all season in the poll.
The Maroons, who are currently 6-0 on the season, are ahead of future opponents Lynchburg (9th USILA, 6th Lax.com), Cabrini (7th USILA, 8th Lax.com) and Washington & Lee (10th). Other Maroon opponents receiving votes are Williams and ODAC-member Randolph-Macon College.
The men had five-straight 20-goal games to set a new school-record in addition to a 6-0 start, which is one win shy of tying the 1978 & 79 teams for best start in school-history.
Matt Quinton leads Roanoke offensively with 15 goals and five assists for 20 points on the season. Jeff Keating has 14 goals and four assists for 18 points in addition to a team-high three man-up goals in five games. Pat March (12g, 6a) also has 18 points while Zach Thomas leads the team in assists (9) in addition to eight goals and 14 groundballs.
Defensively, Greg Khanzadian is the top face-off specialist, winning 49-of-71 attempts and leads the team with 29 groundballs. Sam Love and Stephen Simmons have been racking up the groundballs this season, with 29 and 21, respectively. Justin Tuma has been solid all-around, with three goals, six assists, 21 groundballs and has won 23-of-38 face-offs.
Jake Dorsey has been productive in goal for the Maroons, with 58 in five games this season (no stats for Kenyon). For the year, Dorsey currently has a 7.53 goals against average and a .667 saves percentage.
Roanoke's next opponent will be Dickinson, who is 2-1 on the season on the road this Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m. The Maroons defeated the then #17-ranked Red Devils, 14-8 last season. Dickinson dropped a 9-2 decision to St. Mary's on Feb. 28. The Maroons defeated the Seahawks, 16-10 last Saturday.
