Matt Quinton Named ODAC Player of the Week

Junior attack Matt Quinton was named ODAC Player of the Week announced this afternoon. The Ontario, Canada native scored nine goals in two games to earn the honor. It is the teams' second player this season and the first time in his career to garner the weekly award.
Quinton, who transferred last season from Western New England, is ranked 27th nationally in points per game (4.71) and 22nd in goals (3.57). His team-best 34 goals are only three shy of matching last season's total.
He earned this week's award by racking up four goals in a big non-conference road win against then-#8 Cabrini. Prior to that game he totaled five goals and added an assist in the 27-6 win at home against previously unbeaten Richard Stockton last Thursday.
The Maroons are off to their best start (9-0) in school-history and are ranked fourth nationally in scoring offense, scoring margin, points per game and assists per game. The men are also third in the nation in groundballs per game. The five-straight 20-goal games to open the 2009 season were the longest streak in the programs' 42-year history.
The men will host Williams this Wednesday, March 25 at Kerr Stadium in non-conference action. It will be the fourth first-time opponent on the 2009 schedule as the Maroons have won those games by a combined score of 74-13 against York (Pa.), Birmingham-Southern and Richard Stockton. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
