Justin Tuma Named Inside Lacrosse/Nike Player of the Week
Several Roanoke players played key roles in Saturday's overtime win over Gettysburg that sent them on to the NCAA quarterfinals, but it would be hard to top the all-around effort that Justin Tuma (Bloomfield Hills, MI, Lahser)put together, earning the midfielder Nike/Inside Lacrosse Player of the Week honors for Division III. It was announced this morning.

Tuma was a dominating 14-for-18 in face-offs with a game-high 10 groundballs and had five points to help lead the Maroons by the Bullets. The Bloomfield Hills, Michigan native had two goals and three assists in addition to his outstanding effort at the X, helping Roanoke edge the 2009 NCAA runners-up on the road. On the season, Tuma has racked up 28 goals and 17 assists, all while maintaining a stellar 66% face-offs and 118 groundballs.

For his career, Tuma has collected 262 groundballs, ranked eighth on the all-time list at Roanoke. He has totaled 85 career points, including 40 goals and 45 assists. He has won 258 career face-offs for a .643 percentage, sixth all-time at Roanoke.
Roanoke, currently ranked #5 in the USILA Div. III poll and 18-2 on the season, set ODAC records in both best record and most wins. They face-off against #1 Stevenson this afternoon in the NCAA Quarterfinals in Baltimore, MD at 4 p.m.
