Roanoke Tied for Ninth in USILA Week Five Men's Lacrosse Coaches Poll
Roanoke slipped to ninth in the USILA Men's Lacrosse Coaches Poll announced this afternoon. The Maroons have remained in the top-10 since the 2009 pre-season poll.
The Maroons, now 6-3 overall, 2-0 in the ODAC, were defeated by #2 Salisbury, 10-7 last Wednesday and escaped Randolph-Macon with a 12-11 overtime win. They are tied with Haverford (7-2) for the ninth spot in the weekly survey.
Tufts (5-0) held top billing for the sixth-consecutive week with all 17 first-place votes. Salisbury (9-0) and Stevenson (9-1) flip-flopped in the poll at #2 and #3, respectively, while Cortland (4-1) and RIT (5-0) rounded out the top-five.
Ahead of RC in the rankings are Stevens Tech (8-0), Middlebury (3-1) and RPI (6-1) in the sixth, seventh and eighth spots. Upcoming opponents #17 Hampden-Sydney (6-2) and #18 Cabrini (4-3) traded spots in this week's poll while conference foes Lynchburg and Washington received votes.
The men will have the week off before hosting Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday, April 2. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Kerr Stadium.
