Keating Named ODAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for a Second Time
Men's Lacrosse junior Jeff Keating (Chatham, NJ, Chatham) was named ODAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the second time announced this evening. It's the third time in his career the attackman has earned the award.
Keating, from Chatham, N.J., scored six goals with two assists for eight points in a come-from-behind 17-15 win over Hampden-Sydney. He scored five of his goals in the second half, including a pair in RC's nine-goal fourth quarter in which it erased a 14-8 deficit to top the Tigers.
For the season, Keating leads the Maroons in scoring (56pts) while second in goals (35) and third in assists (21). Over his career, he is currently ranked 19th on the career scoring list with 162 points.
Roanoke, which clinched its third-straight ODAC Regular Season title, is 11-3 overall, 6-0 in the ODAC. The Maroons, who are ranked eighth in the USILA Top-20 Poll, are riding a 19-game conference winning streak. It's the second longest in conference-history, behind RC's run of 27-straight from 1981-89.
The men will travel to Greensboro, NC to play against Guilford in their regular season finale. The Maroons have won 19-straight against the Quakers since 1992. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20.
