Game Notes vs. #12 Gettysburg

#7 Roanoke and #12 Gettysburg will square off tomorrow in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season. Faceoff is set for 2:00 PM at Donald J. Kerr Stadium. Last year's contest needed overtime to find a winner, and Jeff Keating (Chatham, NJ, Chatham) provided the magic, scoring 22 seconds into the extra period.

Gettysburg is coming off an 8-3 win over Scranton in the first round of the tournament. The Bullets are led by the second winningest coach in all of college lacrosse, Hank Janczyk. Pat Sartory and J.C. Ward are tied with 43 points to lead the team.

The Maroons downed Colorado College, 25-5 in the first round on Wednesday, and have not lost since falling to #3 Salisbury on March 23rd, 10-7. Richard Lachlan (Port Coquitlam, B.C., Terry Fox Secondary) is Roanoke's leading scorer with 52 goals, netting eight against Colorado. Keating leads the Maroons in points with 77.

This series is tied at five, but Roanoke holds the edge in the NCAA Tournament, going 3-0 against the Bullets in postseason play.
