Tailgate Scheduled for Men's Lacrosse ODAC Semifinal Saturday
This weekend the men's lacrosse team will host Washington and Lee in the ODAC Semifinals at Kerr Stadium. Prior to the game, which starts at 2 PM., there will be a tailgate provided by the Economics Club/Community Council in conjunction with the Maroon Club from 1:30-3:30 on Sutton Terrace just outside the Colket Center.

The tailgate will provide FREE hot dogs, chips, soft drinks in addition to adult beverages sold for 2 dollars. It is welcome to Maroon Club members in addition to RC students, faculty and staff.

The Maroons, who finished the regular season, 11-3, earned a #2 seed in the ODAC Tournament and a first-round bye with a 6-1 mark. The men's lacrosse program has posted a 26-1 conference record over the past four years.

Over that span, Bill Pilat, who is the winningest men's lacrosse coach in ODAC-history, has led his team to three-straight conference championship games, including back-to-back titles in 2010-11. They will be defending their crown against the team that gave RC its last defeat in the conference tournament, Washington and Lee. The Maroons have advanced to the conference championship in seven of the last eight years.

Roanoke, which is ranked ninth in the USILA Div. III poll, have won seven-straight games since dropping an overtime contest to #3 Lynchburg on March 17. The victory over Hampden-Sydney on March 24, gave the program win #400.

Among the national rankings, Roanoke has the third-highest scoring offense and man-up offense. The Maroons, who lead the country in the groundballs category, are second in both points and assists per game. Jeff Keating ranks seventh in the country in points per game and eighth in assists per game. Richard Lachlan is third in NCAA Div. III in goals per game.
