Game Notes for Roanoke Lacrosse Doubleheader
Tonight Donald J. Kerr Stadium plays host to a Roanoke lacrosse doubleheader. First, at 4:00 PM, the women's lacrosse team faces off with Lynchburg. Then, at 7:00, the men's lacrosse team will square off with Christopher Newport University.

Roanoke's women's lacrosse team sits at 4-4 on the 2012 season and is coming off a 21-1 win over Randolph-Macon on Sunday. Junior Kathleen Wager (Lexington, VA, Rockbridge County) led the Maroons with five goals, and leads the team in that category, while having the third highest total in the ODAC. Allison Bonanno (Ridgewood, NJ, Ridgewood) finished with a game-high nine points off of four goals and five assists to extend her team lead in points. The sophomore is third in the league in that category, and second in assists.

All four of Roanoke's losses this season have come against ranked teams, and they hold a 2-1 record in ODAC play. The Maroons defeated Lynchburg in the 2011 ODAC semifinals, 14-8, to advance to the conference championship game, and have won six of the last eight meetings with the Hornets.

The men's lacrosse team will face off against Christopher Newport tonight for the first time in their history. The Captains hold a 3-4 record this season, and are coming off a 13-3 loss against Ithica on Saturday. The Maroons are entering tonight's game after defeating Hampden-Sydney 21-13 over the weekend. Richard Lachlan (Port Coquitlam, B.C., Terry Fox Secondary) led Roanoke with four goals and two assists, while Mike Hardon (Devon, PA, The Gunnery) allowed 12 goals, while making 15 saves.

Roanoke is led by All-American Jeff Keating (Chatham, NJ, Chatham), who has 17 goals and 14 assists for 31 points this season. Lachlan, a junior, is the Maroons' leading goal scorer with 24 tallies, the second highest total in the ODAC. The men sit at 5-3 just past the midway point of their season, and are 1-1 in conference play.
