Keating, DeLong Score Goals On Winning Team in 2012 DIII USILA Senior North/South Game
BOSTON, MA - Jeff Keating and Eric DeLong each netted a goal for the winning South team in the 2012 USILA Senior North/South game on Friday, May 25th. The South team defeated the North 14-13 in the 71st North/South game.

The 2012 DIII USILA Senior North/South game was held in Harvard Stadium at Harvard University. The DIII game was played at 3:00 PM, while the DI/II game was played at 5:30. The South also won the DI/II game, 15-14.

Keating, a two time All-American, found the back of the net once in the North/South game. He ranked fourth in the NCAA in points per game (4.93), and 10th in assists per game (2.33). Keating led the team in points (74) and assists (35), while being second on the squad in goals (39). The senior is second all-time in points scored (267) and total goals (158) at Roanoke College over his four-year career. He holds the Roanoke all-time record for man-up goals with 36, scoring 15 of those in 2012. Keating was named ODAC Player of the Week on April 9th, an award he earned by tallying 14 points over the course of two games.

DeLong, scored his lone goal of 2012 in the North/South game, as he was a strong member of the Maroon defense this season. He is a two-time All-ODAC selection, earning the first-team nod in 2012. DeLong was an All-ODAC honorable mention in 2011. He played and started in all 15 games for the Maroons this season. DeLong led the team in forced turnovers, causing the opponents to lose possession 31 times. He also gathered 30 ground balls, and earned an assist against Guilford College on April 18th.

The first North-South College all-star game was played in 1940 at Municipal Stadium in Baltimore, MD. The North squad coached by Princeton's Bill Logan won that inaugural event with a 6-5 victory over the South team coached by Maryland's Jack Faber.

Seventy-one total games have been played, and with the exception of 1944 and 1945, the North/South games have occurred each year without interruption.

In 1991, the USILA split the event and created two games, the Division I-II game and the Division III game. This two game format was interrupted in 2006 when a special committee of the USILA recommended returning to one game but combining all divisions. The following year, 2007, saw the return to two separate games
