Senior Richard Lachlan was named ODAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week, announced Monday afternoon. He is the first Roanoke College men's lacrosse player to win the award this season, and the first since Jeff Keating won the honor on April 9^th, 2012. Lachlan last won the award on April 4^th, 2011.

Lachlan, a Port Coquitlam, British Columbia native, helped lead the Maroons to a 2-0 record over the past week. He put up three goals in Roanoke's 12-3 win over Whittier College on March 21^st. He also tallied two ground balls during the effort. Lachlan tallied five goals in the Maroons 17-12 win over ODAC opponent, Virginia Wesleyan, on Saturday afternoon. With those five goals, Lachlan moved into second all-time in scoring at Roanoke College. With 159 goals, he passed Jeff Keating '12 on the list, who stood with 158 goals. Lachlan also ranks seventh all-time at Roanoke in goals per game, netting 2.52 per contest.

The Maroons also received votes in the latest USILA Poll for the second consecutive week. In the past week, the Maroons went 2-0, defeating Whittier College on March 21^st, 12-3, and then beating ODAC rival Virginia Wesleyan, 17-12 on March 23^rd. Lachlan leads the team this season with 24 goals, followed by freshman Will Pilat who has tallied 16 goals. Tyler McWilliams is second on the team in total points with 26 (12g, 14a), with Mike Hayden in a close third with 25 (11g, 14a).

The Maroons return to action on Saturday, March 30^th as they travel to Ashland to take on Randolph-Macon College in ODAC action. That contest is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
