Roanoke (8-3; 5-0 ODAC) is currently on a five game winning streak, and is heading into a tough stretch in the schedule. Over the next five games, the Maroons will take on two ranked teams, as well as Hampden-Sydney who has received votes in the latest poll. Stevenson (11-1; 4-0 ECAC) enters the contest on a six game win streak, including wins over #7 Lynchburg and #6 Salisbury.
The Maroons are coming of a 9-8 victory over then #7 ranked Lynchburg College. Junior Spencer Parsons led the team with three goals, including the game-winner with 1:28 to play in the third quarter. The Maroons defense held off the hornets for the remainder of the game to take down #7 Lynchburg. For his play over the last two games, Parsons was named ODAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday. He's the second men's lacrosse player to win the award in the last three weeks!
Now the Maroons are back in the rankings, and are looking to keep moving up the ladder. Roanoke is looking to bolster their position in the USILA rankings, to further secure a bid to the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse tournament. They are in the homestretch before the ODAC Tournament, and they need your help to build momentum. Be sure to come out and support your Maroons at Kerr Stadium at 7:00 PM TONIGHT!
