Maroons Go Undefeated in ODAC Regular Season, Win over W&L, 9-8
SALEM - The #13 ranked Roanoke College men's lacrosse ended the regular season with a 9-8 victory over #9 Washington and Lee on Saturday. The Maroons complete the regular season with a 13-3 record overall, including a perfect 9-0 mark in ODAC play. The Generals are now 11-3; 5-2 in the ODAC.

With the victory today, the Maroons win the ODAC regular season title and clinch the #1 seed in the ODAC tournament. The Maroons will host an ODAC Tournament Semifinal game against the winner of the #4 and #5 seed. That contest will take place in Kerr Stadium on May 4th.

Tyler Cockey started the scoring off for the Maroons as he netted the first goal of the game at the 11:07 mark in the first quarter. The Generals tied up the game quickly as Garrett Paglia scored just 37 seconds later. Richard Lachlan scored a goal just nine seconds later off a pass from Will Pilat to take a 2-1 lead. The Generals scored two more goals in the first period to go ahead 3-2 after 15.

The Maroons scored the two lone goals in the second quarter, as Nick Wolf and Troy Grogan found the back of the net to end the first half with a 4-3 Roanoke lead.

Washington and Lee outscored Roanoke 4-2 in the third quarter, including two man-up goals. Roanoke's two scores came from Cockey at the 8:56 mark, and Lachlan off an assist from Conner DuBois. After three quarters, the Maroons trailed 7-6 to the Generals.

DuBois scored a goal of his own in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 7-7. The Generals' Jared Mitchell reclaimed the lead with an unassisted goal at 11:42. Roanoke tied the game again, this time at 8-8 after Will Pilat scored a man-up goal with help from DuBois. The game-winner for the Maroons came from Lachlan at the 5:09 mark as he tucked one behind the keeper off an assist from Mike Hayden for the 9-8 victory.

Richard Lachlan led the team with three goals including the game winner at 5:09 in the fourth quarter. He was followed in scoring by Tyler Cockey, who netted two goals. Conner DuBois led the team with three assists and four total points. Clarke Lewis finished the contest with a team high four ground balls. Charles Pease played all 60:00 between the pipes, tallying 13 saves on 21 shots faced.

The Generals were led in scoring by Jack Switala and Mac Means who finished the game with two goals. Luke Heinsohn finished the contest with a team high two assists. Warren Berenis was tabbed with the loss, giving up nine goals on 23 shots faced.

Washington and Lee led over Roanoke in face-offs (12-9) as well as ground balls (25-120. The Maroons led in clears (21-15) and shots (36-33).
