The Roanoke College men's lacrosse team captured the ODAC Championship at 5:00 PM on Sunday evening after defeating Washington and Lee, 10-9 in the title game. The win in today's game is Roanoke's 18th ODAC Championship, starting since 1981. This is also Roanoke's fifth ODAC Championship since the ODAC Tournament began in 2002. With the win, Roanoke grabbed its 24th NCAA Tournament bid, going on to face Centre College.
The Colonels of Centre enter the tournament with a record of 11-3, going 6-1 in the Southern Athletic Association. They fell in the SAA Quarterfinals to Berry College, 15-13. Centre had 11 players named to the All-SAA teams, including Zach Conners and Jay Reed, who earned First Team honors. Connors led Centre with 67 points and 43 goals in his junior year. Reed is a strong defensive player for the Colonels, earning SAA Defensive Player of the Week in the final week of the regular season.
Roanoke and Centre will face of on Wednesday, May 8th in Kerr Stadium. The start time of the contest will be announced at a later time.
