Men's Lacrosse Rolls in 17-6 Win over Randolph College
LYNCHBURG – The #19 ranked Roanoke College men's lacrosse team was victorious in a 17-6 win over Randolph College on Wednesday evening.  The Maroons now have a record 6-3, 3-0 in the ODAC, while the WildCats are 4-3, 0-2 in ODAC play. 
 
The Maroons remain undefeated in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, sitting 3-0 in the league.  Roanoke has won four of its last five, which includes the three ODAC contests.  Roanoke currently sits at the top of the ODAC with three league wins, and a 6-3 overall mark.  Washington & Lee and Virginia Wesleyan are both 2-0 in ODAC play.
 
The Maroons scored six consecutive goals to start the game against Randolph College. Tyler McWilliams scored the first goal, unassisted, in the first 1:05 of the game.  Less than a minute later, Jimmy Kuzma scored after a pass from IV Stucker, as Roanoke took a 2-0 lead.  McWilliams scored just 14 seconds after Kuzma's goal, again unassisted.  Austin Nader scored Roanoke's fourth goal in the first five minutes of the quarter, taking an assist from Conn Curry.  Nader notched an assist of his own, making a pass to Will Carter, who scored Roanoke's fifth.  Will Pilat tallied Roanoke's sixth goal at the 5:30 mark, assisted by McWilliams.  Randolph's Baden James stopped the Roanoke run with a goal at 5:11.  However, Pilat scored one more with the help from McWilliams again, scoring  a man-up goal.  After one, Roanoke led 7-1.
 
Roanoke blanked Randolph in the second quarter, as the Maroons potted five goals during the 15 minute span.  Five different Maroons scored during the quarter.  Steven Jackson opened the scoring with an assist from Kevin Jackson in just the first 28 seconds.  Steven Jackson dished out an assist to Colin Mackienzie as Roanoke now led 9-1.  IV Stucker scored Roanoke's 10th goal, assisted Assisted by Austin Nader.  Pilat scored his third, assisted by McWilliams for the third time at 11:34 in the quarter.  Nader scored Roanoke's last goal of the half at 1:22 as Roanoke entered halftime with a 12-1 lead.
 
McWilliams scored two of the first three goals of the third quarter, both unassisted.  Randolph's Andrew Risse put an end to a Roanoke 7-0 run that lasted since the end of the first quarter.  With 4:00 minutes to play in the third, Josh Sibio scored off of an assist from Nader.  Chad Smith and Seth Fortmann finished the quarter with one goal each, as the Maroons entered the fourth with a 17-2 lead.  Randolph outscored the Maroons 4-0 in the final quarter, but it wouldn't be enough as Roanoke walked away with the 17-6 victory.
 
Roanoke was led in points by Tyler McWilliams, who scored four goals with three assists.  He was followed in scoring by Will Pilat with three goals.  Austin Nader finished with two gaols and three assists off of three shots.  Max Kraus led the team with seven ground balls, while Aaron Heinle and Reid Kaminski finished with six each.  The Maroons finished with 20 forced turnovers, with seven Maroons tallying two apiece.  Dylan Torrey played 41 minutes in net and tallied one save.  Max Kraus went 14-19 in face-offs on Wednesday.
 
Randolph finished with six goals, led by Andrew Gleitz with two.  Of the three assists by the WildCats, Graham Southwick led the team with two. Baden James tallied a team-high six ground balls.  James also forced five turnovers, more than any player on either team.  Cam Davis played 31 minutes in net, tallying 10 saves. 
 
Roanoke outshot Randolph 62-18 over the course of the game.  Roanoke also led the ground ball game, picking up 53 to the WildCats' 23.
 
Roanoke returns to action on Saturday, March 28th as they travel to take on #8 ranked Lynchburg College.  That contest is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
