The Lead: Lynchburg held off Roanoke for a 12-11 ODAC win in men's lacrosse Saturday afternoon.
 
How it Happened
- With the score tied at 2-2, LC got back to back-to-back goals to take a 4-2 lead with 13:48 to play in the first-half.
- A Tyler McWilliams goal with 12:36 on the clock sparked what would prove to be a 6-1 run for the Maroons that was capped by an Cameron Linsley unassisted strike with three minutes to play that made it 8-5.
- LC got a goal with 41 seconds left in the half then scored the first three goals of the second stanza to take a 9-8 lead with just over 11 minutes to go in the third quarter.-
- Will Pilat tied the game seven minutes a later before Colin McGuire scored to give LC a 10-9 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
- IV Stucker tied the game one minute into the fourth quarter before LC scored the next two goals to take a 12-10 with 6:37 to play.
- RC rallied getting a goal from Stucker with 1:26 to go and had a chance to tie the game but its final shot attempt went just wide as time expired.
- LC led 44-41 in shots, while RC held a 31-24 edge in groundballs. RC won 16-of-26 face-offs, while the Maroons had 15 turnovers, including nine in the second-half.
- McWilliams finished with three goals on the day and Stucker had two goal and two assists. Burke McManus had a career-high 15 saves in net for Roanoke.
- LC got four goals Evan Lombardo, while McGuire and Nick Willertz each had two.
- Saturday marks the fourth time in the last six regular season meetings between Roanoke and Lynchburg to be decided by one goal. Despite the loss, the Maroons still hold a 35-11 lead in the all-time series between two programs.
