The Lead: No. 2 Salisbury used a strong first-half to take a 14-6 decision over No. 17 Roanoke in men's lacrosse action on Friday afternoon.
 
How it Happened
  • Joey Dishaw, Kevin Jackson and Will Pilat all had two goals in the loss. Tyler McWilliams dished out two assists.
  • Salisbury was led Nathan Blondino who had four goals, while Brendan Brownwell had three goals and Thomas Cirillo had two tallies.
  • The Sea Gulls outshot RC 41-33 and held a 34-16 edge in groundballs. SU was able to win 18-of-23 face-offs on the day.
  • Salisbury scored the first two goals of the game before Pilat got RC on the board with a man-up goal from McWillams making it 2-1 with just under six minutes to go in the first quarter.
  • A Bromwell goal with just over a minute left to go in the quarter sparked six unanswered goals as the Sea Gulls went up 8-1 and would take a 9-2 lead into halftime.
  • Jackson sparked an RC rally with a goal at the 11:51 mark of the third quarter followed by back-to-back goals by Dishaw to make it 10-5.
  • That would be as close as RC would get as SU closed the game on a 4-1 run to seal the win.
  • Ian Davies made six saves and Burke McManus made five stops for RC in net.
