Sean O'Keefe Joins Men's Lacrosse Staff

SALEM, Va. – Roanoke College Men's Lacrosse coach Bill Pilat announced Monday that Sean O'Keefe has joined his staff as a volunteer assistant coach.

O'Keefe will work with the Maroons defense and comes to Salem after a four-year career at Bryant University under the tutelage of Bulldog Head Coach Mike Pressler. O'Keefe was apart of 42 wins during his career and was a member of the 2014 squad that advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals.

"We are very excited to have Sean O'Keefe as one of our coaches for the 2017 season," said Pilat. "Sean played defense for Coach Mike Pressler at Bryant so we know he is well versed in defensive tactics and strategies.  We are looking forward to having him work with our talented defense this season as we return almost all of our defensive personnel from last year."

No stranger to Roanoke College, O'Keefe's father Andy is a member of the RC Athletics Hall of Fame and was member of the Maroons' 1978 Men's Lacrosse National Championship team and is a two-time All-American.

The Maroons are coming off a 2016 season in which it extended its school record with its eighth consecutive season with 10 or more wins, finishing with 13 victories in 2016, four of those victories were against NCAA Tournament teams.  The Maroons finished atop the ODAC regular season standings for the 23rd time since 1981.
