RC Ranked 15th in USILA Coaches Poll

Salem, Va. – The Roanoke College Men's Lacrosse team has been ranked 15th in the 2019 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Preseason Coaches Poll.

Roanoke earned the 15th spot in the USILA poll after being ranked 14th in the nation in the Nike/US Lacrosse Men's Division III Preseason Top 20 Poll and 15th in the Inside Lacrosse Poll.

RC is coming off a 2018 season that saw it post a 14-6 overall record and make its 20th trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Back in the mix for the Maroons offensively is Jason Sarro who had 83 points last season. He was named a USILA All-American and First-Team All-ODAC. He finished the season with 83 total points which ranked second in the ODAC. He led the league with 43 assists and his 40 goals was sixth most in the league.

Roanoke returns Ian Davies in the cage this season. A USILA First-Team All-American and the USILA National Goalie of the Year, Davies was a First-Team All-ODAC selection as well. Davies posted an ODAC best 220 saves. He also ranked first with a 57% save percentage and third in goals-against-average with a 9.24 mark.

Roanoke opens the season Feb. 22 at home versus Sewanee at 4:00 p.m.
