  • Roanoke College Men’s Lacrosse Raises Funds To Support Ronald McDonald House

    The Roanoke College men’s lacrosse team today visited the Ronald McDonald House to present $1,500 the team raised to assist the home away from home for families with children being treated in area hospitals. The team also conducted a food drive, and delivered food and paper products to the house.

    The Roanoke College Athletic Department announced their 2020-21 award winners on Monday afternoon. The announcement of the four awards comes after an unprecedented season that would see all sports competing, in condensed schedules, over a three and a half month period due to the pandemic.

    Roanoke College lacrosse great John Pirro has been named to the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. On Wednesday afternoon, USA Lacrosse announced the Hall of Fame Class of 2021 and Roanoke College’s John Pirro was named as one of the eight selections.

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced the All ODAC Men's Lacrosse teams on Wednesday afternoon. When the teams were released, five Maroons were named all conference.
  • Roanoke Rally Falls Short

    The Roanoke College men’s lacrosse team entered the post season as the #4 seed in the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men’s Lacrosse Tournament. The Maroons played host to the #5 seed Bridgewater on Tuesday night at Kerr Stadium. The Eagles raced out to a 6-2 advantage before a late first half run by Roanoke would make it a one-goal game at the break, 6-5. The visitors used a 6-2 third quarter to pull away. A fourth quarter rally by RC would make it a two-goal game late but the Maroons ran out of time as Bridgewater advanced with a 13-11 win.

    For the final time this regular season, the Roanoke College men’s lacrosse team took the field when they made the trip to Lynchburg to face Randolph College. It was the final tune up before the start of the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament and Roanoke wasted no time in racing out to a big first half lead on their way to a 30-0 win in their regular season finale.

    With fourth place in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) on the line, Roanoke traveled to face Randolph-Macon on Wednesday afternoon. The game was close at the half but a third quarter surge that would see the Maroons out-score the Yellow Jackets 6-2 allowed Roanoke to pull away and hold on for the 18-15 ODAC win.

    The Roanoke men's lacrosse team traveled to Lynchburg on Saturday afternoon. The game was moved up three hours to try to beat the impending storms in a matchup of teams tied for second place in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) standings. The Hornets used a 7-0 to end the second quarter and start the third to pull away for the 20-10 ODAC win.

    The Roanoke College men's lacrosse team was in action on Wednesday afternoon when they played host to Shenandoah in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference matchup. Roanoke would score six unanswered first period goals to build a big lead on their way to a 23-5 conference victory.

    Roanoke played host to Mary Washington in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles scored first before 10 unanswered Maroon goals would give RC a 10-1 lead at the break. The second half would be more tightly contested but in the end Roanoke pulled away for the 19-7 win.

    The Roanoke College men's lacrosse team hosted Ferrum College on Wednesday afternoon looking for their second Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win of the season. The Panthers scored first, but seven unanswered Maroon scores would allow RC to pull away early. Roanoke would enjoy a 67-15 shot advantage on their way to a 25-3 ODAC victory.

    Roanoke welcomed Washington and Lee to Kerr Stadium on Saturday looking to run their early season Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) record to 2-0 after a win over Bridgewater. The Maroons raced out to a 4-1 lead over the Generals after one quarter of play. However, the visitors from Lexington would hold RC to just three scores the final three periods as the Generals rallied for the 8-7 win.
  • Last Second Goal Lifts Maroons

    The Roanoke men’s lacrosse team traveled to Bridgewater to open the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) portion of their schedule. The lead would go back and forth and the game was tied with one minute to play. The Eagles appeared to score the go ahead goal but the score was disallowed. The Maroons netted the game winning goal with just 11 seconds to play to secure the ODAC win.
  • Maroons Fall After Fast Christopher Newport Start

    Christopher Newport came into the matchup with Roanoke looking to remain perfect on the young season with the Maroons hoping to get off to a 2-0 start. The visitors would open the scoring with four unanswered goals as they took a 4-0 lead after the opening quarter. The Maroon deficit would grow to double digits late in the game as CNU recorded the 17-6 win.
  • Roanoke Downs William Peace To Start Season

    The Maroons would get the 2021 campaign off to a good start when they hosted William Peace on Saturday afternoon. Roanoke would pitch a shutout in the third quarter as they pulled away from the Pacers on their way to a 25-8, season opening, win.

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their plan for the return to competition for the Spring of 2021. Tuesday afternoon the league office announced that conference play is slotted to begin January 23rd.
