Men's Soccer Remains atop the National Statistical Rankings

Roanoke is ranked sixth in the NSCAA South Region poll for the second-straight week. The ODAC regular season champions defeated Randolph-Macon, 4-0, in the ODAC Quarterfinals on Saturday to advance them to the semifinal round held at Kerr Stadium this evening.
The Maroons are currently ninth in the country in goals against average and moved up to 18th in shutout percentage in the latest NCAA Div. III Statistical Rankings announced today.
Senior keeper Adam Thompson has moved up one spot to ninth place in goals against average and up six spots to 49th in save percentage (.837). Thompson has nine shutouts this season and 12 in his career to tie him for eighth all-time in the ODAC in both categories. His effort have also placed him atop the ODAC in shutouts and goals against average.
The Maroon's offense is also ranked 85th in the country with an average of 2.2 goals per game, led by Shaman Douglass and Chris Collins. Douglass has six goals and a team-leading seven assists for 19 points. He is ranked fifth in the ODAC and nationally in assists per game.
Tied with Douglass, Collins has 19 points with a team-high eight goals on the season. This week's ODAC Player of the Week has been explosive in the past six games where he scored seven goals and tallied two assists for 16 points. He is the team leader in shots on-goal (26) and goals (8) including two game winners, one of which was in the last minute of the second overtime to defeat Guilford.
The Maroons will face Hampden-Sydney on Wednesday in ODAC Semifinal action at Kerr Stadium. The last outing against the Tigers was a 2-0 victory on Oct. 18. The Maroons are 24-9-1 all-time against the H-SC. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
