Men's Soccer earns road win over Guilford, 1-0 in ODAC Action
GREENSBORO, N.C. --- Roanoke defeated Guilford, 1-0 on the road in ODAC action Wednesday evening. The Maroons improve to 10-3-1 overall, 5-0-1 in the ODAC. The Quakers fell to 12-2-1, 7-0-1 in the conference.

Drew Claytor (Greensboro, NC, Grimsley) provided all the offense the Maroons needed with a goal in the 55th minute. Peyton Lambert (Chesapeake, VA, Western Branch) and Chris Conover (Dagsboro, DE, Indian River) were part of a double-assist in the game-winner, which gave Roanoke its fifth-straight 10-win season.

Roanoke held slight edges in both shots (14-12), shots on goal (5-3) and corner kicks (3-2). Avery Makel (Nellysford, VA, Nelson County) collected three saves in goal for the Maroons. Peter Truitt had four saves for Guilford.

Midfielder Patrick Bain (New Market, VA, Stonewall Jackson) led the Maroons with five shots on the night, followed by Claytor, who tallied three shots. Freddy Gomez led Guilford with four shots.

The men will travel to Randolph-Macon on Saturday, Oct. 15 in ODAC action. The match is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start time.
