D.C. United announced in collaboration with many local soccer clubs for its U-23 squad will participate in a showcase in Roanoke on June 16th at Dwight Bogle Stadium. Along with a clinic for kids 7-12, the D.C. United U-23 team will take on the Roanoke Star SC at 4:00 PM.
Current and former Roanoke men's soccer players will be taking part in the game. Sophomores Tyler Carbaugh and Cole Sinclair, seniors Patrick Bain, Ned Feldman, Robin Hernandez and alumnus Grayson Prillaman '91, will all play on the Roanoke Star SC team.
“It's exciting to see DC United in the area and also to showcase some of our Roanoke College players in the game,” said Roanoke Head Coach Ryan Pflugrad. “It should be a fun event that we encourage all local soccer fans to check out.”
D.C. United's U-23 team features top collegiate, international and domestic players. Led by D.C United legend Jaime Moreno, the squad will work and learn from one of the most accomplished players in MLS history. Moreno will be assisted by D.C. United's U-14 Academy Head Coach, U-18 Academy Head Coach Nolan Sheldon and U-16 Academy Head Coach Tom Torres.
