Former RC Soccer Standouts Dinkel and Eldridge Ink Professional Contracts
SALEM, Va. – A pair of former Roanoke College Men's Soccer standouts recently signed professional contracts to play overseas.

Marc Dinkel '15 is playing with with FC Blacks Stars Basel of 1 Liga in his native Switzerland, while 2014 graduate Garrett Eldridge recently signed a professional contract with Australian club Sunshine Coast Fire of the Australian PS4 National Premier League. 
 
"The entire Roanoke College Men's Soccer program is thrilled that both Garrett and Marc have earned the opportunity to continue their soccer careers as professionals," said Roanoke College Head Coach Ryan Pflugrad. "The education and athletic experience our student-athletes receive here at Roanoke College is extremely preparative and it's exciting for our graduates to able to further pursue their passions both on and off the field."
 
A 2014 NSCAA All-American, Dinkel led the ODAC in points (37), goals scored (12) and assists (13) as a senior.  For his efforts, he was named ODAC Player of the Year.  In two seasons in a RC uniform, Dinkel scored 17 goals and handed out 19 assists for 53 points.  His 19 assists rank tied for ninth all-time at Roanoke College, with his 13 in 2014 ranking third all-time in single season assists.
 
During his career for the Maroons, Eldridge was named Third Team All-Conference during following his sophomore season. In his junior and senior seasons Garret was named First Team All-ODAC. During his senior season Garrett was honored by being named to the All-ODAC Tournament Team. Eldridge tallied nine goals and seven assists during his career at Roanoke, made the ODAC Championship game twice, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament once.
