    The Roanoke College Athletic Department announced their 2020-21 award winners on Monday afternoon. The announcement of the four awards comes after an unprecedented season that would see all sports competing, in condensed schedules, over a three and a half month period due to the pandemic.

    The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced their Men's Soccer All State teams on Wednesday afternoon. A trio of Maroons were named All State by the organization, headlined by Joe Carman being named Defensive Player of the Year.

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released their 2020-21 All ODAC Men's Soccer awards on Tuesday afternoon. Five Maroons were named to the three all conference teams with each being a repeat selections from the 2019 teams.
  • Roanoke Falls In Penalty Kicks

    After upsetting the #2 seed Washington and Lee on the road, the Roanoke men’s soccer team was looking to advance to the finals of the 2020-21 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men’s Soccer Tournament when they traveled to Greensboro on Friday night. The match against the #6 Quakers of Guilford would be delayed by more than two hours due to lightning with the Maroons leading 1-0. A late Guilford goal would tie it up with less than 20 minutes left to play. Neither team would score in the two overtime periods and the match would go to Penalty Kicks. Guilford got stops on the first two Roanoke attempts and would advance to the Finals by winning in PKs, 4-2.
  • Maroons Advance In ODAC Tournament

    The Roanoke men’s soccer team opened up the 2020-21 ODAC Men’s Soccer Tournament with a quarterfinal trip to Lexington to face Washington and Lee. The Maroons would score less than seven minutes into the match to take an early advantage. The defense would make the lead hold up throughout as the Maroons took down the #2 Generals to advance in the tournament.
  • Shutout In Regular season Finale

    The Roanoke men’s soccer team was on the road for their regular season finale at Emory & Henry on Saturday evening. The Maroons were looking to gain some momentum on the heels of the start of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament that is scheduled to start on Tuesday. The Maroons took a 2-0 lead into the half and came out in the second half to pull away for the regular season ending win.
  • Rally Falls Short In Lynchburg

    The Maroons were back in action with a trip to Lynchburg to face Randolph College. The WildCats would race out to a 4-0 lead, but a furious Roanoke rally in the finals ten minutes would see the Maroons come up one goal short as they fell on the road.
  • Roanoke Earns First Win of the Season

    After opening the season with three double overtime draws, the Roanoke men’s soccer team traveled to Shenandoah in search of their first win of the season. The Maroons would out-shoot their hosts 11-3 with a pair of shots finding the back of the net for the 2-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win.
  • Third Straight Overtime Draw for the Maroons

    For the first time this season, the Roanoke men’s soccer team went on the road. After playing to draws in each of their first two matches, the Maroons would once again go overtime with Lynchburg. After a pair of extra periods, the match would end in a 0-0 draw.
  • Roanoke Plays Generals to Draw

    Roanoke College played host to longtime rival Washington and Lee on Sunday afternoon. The Maroons would strike first, but the Generals would net the game tying goal with just over five minutes to play. Neither team would score in the two overtime periods and the match ended in a 1-1 tie.
  • Opener Ends In Scoreless Draw

    Sunday was the opening of the 2020-21 Roanoke College men’s soccer season. The Maroons played host to Bridgewater College in both teams season and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener. Roanoke had several good scoring chances early but could not convert as RC held a 12-1 shot advantage at the half. Roanoke continued to apply pressure but each time the Eagles were up to the task. After regulation and a pair of 10 minute overtime periods, the match ended in a draw.

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released their 2020-21 Fall Sport conference schedules on Thursday afternoon. The schedules for the team sports of men's & women's soccer, field hockey, and volleyball have been released as approved by the ODAC President's Council.
  • ODAC Releases Plan For Spring Competition

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their plan for the return to competition for the Spring of 2021. Tuesday afternoon the league office announced that conference play is slotted to begin January 23rd.
  • Update On Fall 2020 Athletics At Roanoke College

    Roanoke College Director of Athletics Scott Allison announced Tuesday that fall and winter sport competition will be postponed through the end of the 2020 calendar year (December 31).
