  • Six Maroons Honored for Academic Success
    July 14, 2022
    The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced their 2022 Academic All State teams on Thursday morning. Six Maroons were honored for not only their athletic accomplishments, but for their academic success. Four of the six carry a 4.00 Grade Point Average (GPA), while the others sport a 3.974 and 3.966 gpa.

    On Wednesday afternoon, the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced their All-State Men's Soccer teams. Roanoke College goalkeeper Zach Behe and defender Joe Carman were named to the All State teams for their play in the 2021 season.
  • Behe Named Academic All American

    The College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) announced their 2021 Academic All American teams for soccer on Wednesday afternoon. Roanoke College goalkeeper Zach Behe was named Academic All American 1st Team.

  • Haden and Behe Earn Academic All District Honors

    The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced their Academic All District teams for soccer on Thursday afternoon. A pair of Maroons, one women's and one men's, were honored for their performance in the classroom as well as on the field. Seniors Bryan Haden and Zach Behe were named Academic All District and now move to the nationwide voting for the Academic All American teams.
  • Roanoke Has Six Repeat All ODAC Members

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their 2021 men's soccer All Conference teams on Wednesday afternoon. The Maroons would see six familiar faces on the three teams as every Maroon was a repeat All ODAC performer from past seasons.
  • Roanoke Opens Tournament On The Road

    One week after defeating Randolph College in Kerr Stadium, 1-0, the Roanoke men’s soccer team traveled to Lynchburg to face the WildCats in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men’s Soccer Tournament. Just past the mid-way point of the first half, the home team would score and take a 1-0 lead into the break. Roanoke would lead the second half in shots taken, 3-1, but could not get the equalizer and fell in the opening round of the ODAC Tournament.
  • Back-To-Back Wins To End Regular Season

    The Maroons looked to end the regular season on a two-match win streak. After defeating Randolph College on Saturday, Roanoke welcomed Guilford to Kerr Stadium for the finale. The Maroons struck first, netting a goal at the 29-minute mark of the first half. Guilford would tie the match in the early stages of the second half before Roanoke finished the night with three straight scores to make it 4-1.
  • Roanoke Wins On Penalty Kick
    October 23, 2021
    After earning a 1-1 draw with top ranked Washington and Lee, Roanoke played host to Randolph College looking to move up the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) standings. The Maroons were awarded a Penalty Kick after a handball in the zone and after converting, the lead belonged to Roanoke. The Maroon defense was up to the task as they kept the WildCats off the scoreboard to secure the 1-0 ODAC victory.
  • Roanoke Challenges Top Ranked Generals
    October 20, 2021
    The Maroons traveled to Lexington to face the #1 ranked Generals of Washington and Lee. Roanoke struck first to take a 1-0 lead that held up until the break. At the 73-minute mark, the Generals tied to score and the game would go into overtime. Neither team scored during the two, extra periods and the match would end in a 1-1 draw.
  • Maroons And Marlins Go 2OT
    October 16, 2021
    The final two match road trip of the season got started on Saturday with a visit to Virginia Wesleyan. The Maroons would out-shoot the Marlins 23-12, but neither team could find the back of the net and Roanoke played their third Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) draw of the season.
  • ODAC Win For Maroons

    Roanoke College began a three-match road swing with a stop in Bridgewater to face the Eagles on Wednesday afternoon. The Maroons took the lead in the opening stages with a goal at the 11-minute mark. Roanoke would hold the 1-0 edge heading into the break. Another score with 25 minutes to play would secure the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win for Roanoke.
  • Double Overtime Draw for Maroons

    For the second consecutive match Roanoke would face the Hornets. Lynchburg defeated the Maroons on Wednesday night, 2-0, as RC welcomed Shenandoah to Kerr Stadium for a Saturday afternoon matchup. Roanoke scored first but the Hornets answered just minutes later as the match would remain tied at the break. The Maroons seemed to have scored the potential game winner but it was wiped out by an offside call and the match went to overtime. After a total of 110 minutes, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
  • Taitague to Compete for Guam National Team in Bahrain

    Roanoke College Men’s Soccer player Alec Taitague (James River High School, FC Richmond) has been selected to the Guam Senior Men’s National Team roster for upcoming Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup play-offs.
  • Roanoke Unable To Rally Against Hornets

    Roanoke College played host to Lynchburg in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matchup of top three teams from the 2021 preseason poll. The Hornets would score less than five minutes into the match. Another Lynchburg score in the closing stages of the first half would be all the Hornets would need as they picked up the ODAC win, 2-0.
  • Big Offensive Night For The Maroons

    The Roanoke men’s soccer team returned to Salem to protect the field at Kerr Stadium for the first time since September 11th when they welcomed Eastern Mennonite on Friday night. The Maroons played Randolph-Macon to a 0-0 draw and went searching for their first Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win against the Royals. An early goal would give RC the advantage and after converting a PK, Roanoke took a 2-0 lead into the break. The second half was all Roanoke college as the Maroons added four more scores to make it a 6-0 final.
  • ODAC Opener Ends In A Draw

    Roanoke traveled to Randolph-Macon for their Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener on Tuesday night. Both teams came into the evening with five out of conference wins as the two long-time ODAC foes would look to get the 2021 conference schedule started with a win. The first 60 minutes would be played virtually even, before a flurry of late shots by the Yellow Jackets would tilt the field in their favor. However, the Roanoke defense would stand up and the match headed to overtime. After 110 minutes the match would end in a 0-0 tie.
  • Roanoke Falls On A Penalty Kick

    The Roanoke College men’s soccer traveled to Charlotte to play Emory University at the neutral site, midway between the two institutions. Neither team would score during the first half. At the 62-minute mark, the Eagles would break the tie and score the only goal of the afternoon for the 1-0 non-conference win.

    The Roanoke College men’s soccer team continued their five-match road swing with a trip to Mary Washington after defeating Hamden-Sydney on Wednesday night. The Maroons scored first but a late first half goal would see the score tied, 1-1, at the break. Neither team would score in the second half, nor did the tie get broken after a pair of extra periods resulting in a 1-1 draw.
  • Maroons Down Tigers On The Road

    Roanoke went on the road to face their rivals from Hampden-Sydney in a non-conference match on Wednesday night. The Maroons would score first and take a 1-0 lead into the break. The second half would see Roanoke lead in shots, 7-4, while adding a pair of goals to complete the shutout of the Tigers, 3-0.
  • Maroons Remain Perfect At Home
    September 11, 2021
    Roanoke College looked to make it a perfect weekend when they took the field against N.C. Wesleyan on Saturday night. The Maroons had an easy time of it with Methodist, 6-0, on Friday and looked to wrap up their three September home games with a 3-0 record. The match would be played extremely close and was scoreless at the half. Roanoke got an early second half score and added another score in the closing minutes to run their home record to a perfect 3-0 to start the season.
  • Big Offensive Night For Maroons

    After suffering their first defeat of the season, Roanoke returned home to face Methodist on Friday evening. The Maroons converted a penalty kick in the open stages of the match and then used a 21-2 shot advantage to down Methodist, 6-0.
  • Maroons Fall On The Road

    The Maroons faced off with St. Mary’s of Maryland at Salisbury on Sunday afternoon. After defeating the Seagulls, 2-1, Roanoke looked to complete the weekend sweep with a win over the Seahawks. Neither team was able to get a shot on goal in a scoreless first half. In the 72nd minute, St. Mary’s broke through with the lone score of the afternoon as the Maroons fell, 1-0.
  • Second Half Score Propels Roanoke
    September 04, 2021
    After opening the season with a win at home, the Roanoke men’s soccer team traveled to Maryland for the first of two matches this weekend. Salisbury was the first opponent for a Maroon team looking to get the season off to a quick start. A goal just five minutes into the afternoon would give RC the lead. After a Seagull score tied it Roanoke netted the game winner in the second half to stay unbeaten to start the season.

    The 2021 Roanoke College men’s soccer team took the field for their home opener under the lights on Wednesday night. A beautiful first half score would stake the Maroons to an early 1-0 advantage. The Roanoke defense would make the early score stand up as Roanoke picked up a shutout win over Greensboro College.
