The Lead: Roanoke went on the road to face their rivals from Hampden-Sydney in a non-conference match on Wednesday night. The Maroons would score first and take a 1-0 lead into the break. The second half would see Roanoke lead in shots, 7-4, while adding a pair of goals to complete the shutout of the Tigers, 3-0.

Highlights:

  • 30 minutes into the first half, Vincent Lamina would break the scoreless tie with an unassisted score for the Maroons.
  • Roanoke held the Tigers to just two shots during the opening half as the Maroons would take the 1-0 edge into the break.
  • At the 63:35 mark, Roanoke was awarded a Penalty Kick after a foul in the box. Liam Camilleri converted the PK for his third score of the season.
  • With just under seven minutes remaining, Till Pfleging scored his first of the season off a feed from Jake Berecz to make it a 3-0 final.
  • The Maroons defense would just allow one Hampden-Sydney shot to get on goal and Zach Behe recorded the save on his way to picking up the shutout.
