The Lead: Roanoke College began a three-match road swing with a stop in Bridgewater to face the Eagles on Wednesday afternoon. The Maroons took the lead in the opening stages with a goal at the 11-minute mark. Roanoke would hold the 1-0 edge heading into the break. Another score with 25 minutes to play would secure the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win for Roanoke.

Highlights:

  • Just over 11 minutes into the match, Roanoke would attempt a flurry of shots. After a couple of Eagle saves, Joe Carman sent a shot into the back of the net for the 1-0 advantage.
  • The Maroons enjoyed an 11-5, first half, edge in shots and took the lead into the break.
  • With just under 25 minutes on the clock, Roanoke would add an insurance goal to make it 2-0. Nathan Carey scored the goal off an assist by Dylan Berk as Roanoke closed out the Eagles for the ODAC win.
  • In total, Roanoke would see a 17-8 shot advantage with an edge in shots on goal, 9-1.
  • Zach Behe recorded a save on the first Bridgewater shot of the night, but the Eagles failed to get another shot on net for the final 81 minutes of play.
