The Short Story: The Roanoke College men's soccer team remained unbeaten on the young season with a 0-0 tie against Texas Lutheran on Monday afternoon. The game was the final one of the 2022 VBR Sports Roanoke College Men's Soccer Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Both teams played a strong defensive game in the first half.
  • The Bulldogs looked to take the lead with 27 seconds left in the opening period when a long pass to Luis Green bounced off the left post.
  • TLU earlier scored what appeared to be a goal, but the lines official called the Bulldogs offside and waved the goal off.
  • A new rule in college soccer is a game can end in a tie after 90 minutes of play. Only when it comes to the postseason will games continue into overtime.
