The Short Story: Despite out shooting the host Eagles in the second half, the Roanoke College men's soccer team dropped their final non-conference matchup of the regular season with a 2-1 loss to Emory on the road in Atlanta on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The ball stayed on the defensive side of the field for the Maroons early in the first half with the Eagles getting on the scoreboard first in the 23rd minute to take a 1-0 lead
  • The Eagles added another goal just before halftime in the 43rd minute to have a 2-0 lead heading into the intermission
  • The Maroons got on the board just 1:15 into the second half when Anthony Zarlenga took a deflected pass off an Emory defender on the far side of a corner-kick and fired it passed the goalkeeper to bring RC back within one.
  • Emory played a defensively the rest of the game to hold on for the 2-1 win.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • Zach Behe played all 90 minutes in goal for the Maroons, making five saves.
