Day One of the ODAC Swim Championships

Meet: 2022 ODAC Swim Championships (Day One)
Location: Greensboro, N.C.
The Lead: The 2022 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Swim Championships got started on Thursday in North Carolina. The four-day event is being held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. Roanoke would finish runner-up in both the men's and women's 800 Freestyle Relay to get the championship meet off to a solid start.
Women's highlights:
- 800 Freestyle Relay: The quartet of Hannah Petty, Maria Vinson, Grace Fountain, and Susanna Price would post a final time of 7:52.56 to earn a runner-up finish. Washington and Lee would take the top spot at 7:42.41 with Randolph-Macon finishing 3rd.
Men's highlights:
- 800 Freestyle Relay: W&L would just out distance the foursome of Ben Tate, Ethan Brewer, Cole Hensen, and Brian Grimmett. Roanoke would touch in a time of 6:50.77, just 1.20 seconds behind their rivals from Lexington. Lynchburg would finish 3rd.
Up next: Roanoke return to the pool tomorrow morning at 10:am for Day Two Prelims in advance of the daily Finals at 6:00pm.
