Meet: 2022 ODAC Swim Championships (Day Three)
Location: Greensboro, N.C.

The Lead: Day three of the 2022 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Swim Championships featured six more events, one relay and five individual, in the pool at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. Roanoke would claim three more individual wins with two runner-up and a trio of 3rd place efforts on the day.

Women's highlights:

  • 200 Freestyle Relay: Maddie Andrews, Lore Gibson, Elizabeth Roberts, and Lily Mullens posted a time of 1:50.20 for a 4th place result.
  • 100 Back: Andrews claimed a second set of 4th place points with her final time of 58.29.
  • 200 Freestyle: Susanna Price finished runner-up when she touched in 1:54.72, just .66 of a second behind the winner from W&L.
  • 400 IM: Bailey Gallagher claimed top spot with a finish of 4:34.52, less than five seconds ahead of teammate Maria Vinson in third.

Men's highlights:

  • 200 Medley Relay: Mack Calvert, Logan Deal, Ben Tate, and Xavier Williams posted a time of 1:33.31 for a runner up finish to a W&L team that set a new ODAC record at 1:31.62.
  • 100 Breaststroke: Deal picked up another win during the 2022 Championships when he touched in 56.17. Kinkema was 3rd at 57.08.
  • 200 Freestyle: Ethan Brewer and Luke Nagel (W&L) touched at the same time to finish atop the standings with a time of 1:41.74.
  • 400 IM: Chris Snow was 3rd with a time of 4:09.42 when he finished just ahead of the ODAC and Championship meet record holder Connor Kinkema in 4th (4:11.24).
  • 100 Fly: Tate finished in a dead heat for 4th in a final time of 51.04.

Up next:  The final day of the championship meet will start on Saturday morning with the Prelims beginning at 10am and the Finals of those events being decided in the evening. The Maroons men are trailing only Washington and Lee while the women are currently sitting in fourth, trailing Lynchburg by 22 and Randolph-Macon by 37.
