Jon Roy (Greensboro, NC, Grimsley)and Sam Sherrill (Southborough, MA, St. Mark's)were named to the All-ODAC Team in men's tennis announced Friday afternoon. Sherrill was named first-team in #2 singles while Roy earned second-team in #1 singles.
Roy, who went 9-4 this season, had a 7-4 record in #1 singles, including a 4-2 post in the ODAC. He finished the season on a three-game win-streak. He teamed up with Sherrill as the #1 singles duo went 11-3 this spring, 6-0 in conference matches. For his career, Roy has compiled a 18-8 record, 11-2 in conference matches.
Sherrill finished the season, 8-3, 6-2 in #2 singles to earn his second all-conference award. He held a 4-1 mark in conference play and won five of his last six outings. He capped his career with a 38-24 record, 20-7 in ODAC play.
The Maroons finished the year, 8-9 with a 5-4 mark in conference play. The men posted a 4-2 record at home and a #4 seed in the ODAC Tournament, where they defeated Emory & Henry in the quarterfinals. They fell t0 Washington & Lee in the semifinal round.
