Men's Tennis Falls to #18 Washington & Lee, 7-2

SALEM, Va. --- The Roanoke College men's tennis team fell to #18 Washington & Lee, 7-2 on Tuesday afternoon. The Maroons dropped to 0-2 on the young season.

The Generals won the number two and three doubles matches in addition to the number two through seven singles matches.
Jon Roy and Sam Sherrill won the number one doubles match up for the Maroons with a score of 8-4. Doubles partners Sam Jordan and Alex Lyons as well as Drew Rogers and Pete DeWitt lost their matches 8-1 and 8-2 respectively.
Roy took the number one matchup in singles for Roanoke's second point. He won in three sets, 6-4, 1-6, 10-2. Sherrill lost 6-1, 6-4 in the number two singles competition while the number three and four seed of Rogers and Jordan fell 6-2, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-3 respectively.
The men will host Dickinson on Saturday, Mar. 14. Start time is set for 11:00 a.m.
