SALEM, Va. - Roanoke was defeated by top ranked Washington & Lee in ODAC action on Elizabeth Campus Courts, 9-0. The Maroons fall to 2-3 overall, 2-2 in the ODAC play. The Generals, ranked #30 in the country, continue to have an impressive season, improving to 11-1, 9-0 in conference play.
In singles competition, Jon Roy (Greensboro, NC, Grimsley) fell to Hayden White in the #1 slot, 6-1, 6-3. Roy's record stands at 3-2 on the season. In #3 singles, Alex Lyons (Topsfield, MA, St. Johns Prep) had a close first set match against Michael Freeman, 7-5, but fell short in the second set, 6-1.
In #1 doubles, Roy and James Lee (Radnor, PA, Radnor) lost to Mac Davis and Jonathan Gaffney, 8-2. This setback brings Roy's four-match win-streak in doubles to a halt.
The men's next match is on April 1 as they travel to Randolph. The time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
