HILTON HEAD, S.C. --- The Roanoke College Men's Tennis team finished the spring break trip, 1-3 off the coast of South Carolina at Hilton Head this week. The Maroons are now 1-5 on the season heading into the conference-portion of their 2012 schedule.

Roanoke dropped a 9-0 decision to Catawba, a NCAA Div. II school, and to perennial national-power, Baldwin-Wallace, 8-1 in the first two days of the trip. The Yellow Jackets are now 13-0, including a clean sweep down in Hilton Head with a 5-0 mark.

The Maroons fell to St. John Fisher, 5-4 and won their first game of the season against Mount Union, 6-3 in the final two days to complete the week on a high note. After RC won two of three matches in doubles action, the Cardinals won four of six matches at singles to earn the victory. Roanoke earned their first match win of the season against the Raiders in the final day of the spring break trip.

The men will travel to North Carolina on March 14 to take on ODAC-foe Guilford in conference action. The match is scheduled for 3 p.m.
