The Christopher Newport Captains shut out the Roanoke Maroons at the Elizabeth Campus Courts on Saturday morning, 9-0. The loss drops Roanoke to 2-9, as they were shut out for the fourth time this season. The Captains record improved to 6-7, before they improved to 7-7 with a win over Ferrum later in the day.

The number one and number two singles were claimed in straight sets by the captains, while Charlie Graves (South Hamilton, MA, Hamilton Wenham Regional) fell in the number three spot in the closest match of the day. The junior fell, 6-4, 6-2.

In doubles play, Chris Migliarese (Roanoke, VA, Hidden Valley) and Greg Migliarese (Roanoke, VA, Hidden Valley) were the only pair to claim a game from CNU falling, 8-2 as the number two pairing.

Roanoke will retake the court on Tuesday afternoon to take on the Randolph Wildcats at 3:30 PM.
