Roanoke Ends Regular Season, Seventh Seed in ODAC Tournament
On Wednesday in Bridgewater, Virginia, the Bridgewater College Eagles defeated the Roanoke College Maroons, 8-1. The loss drops Roanoke to 4-11, 3-6 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play, as they conclude the regular season. Bridgewater extends their winning streak to five, and improves to 9-5, with a 6-1 mark in conference play.

The Eagles dominated singles competition winning five of the six matchups. The Maroons' only singles victory came in the number six spot where Ian Webster (Fredricksburg, VA, James Monroe) defeated Sam Churchill, 6-4, 7-5. The sophomore finished the regular season with a 7-3, 6-2, and was the only Maroon to have a winning season. Webster finished the season riding a five match winning streak.

Doubles play saw the closest match of the afternoon. At number two doubles, Chris Migliarese (Roanoke, VA, Hidden Valley) and Greg Migliarese (Roanoke, VA, Hidden Valley) forced a tiebreaker with Peter Hawkins/Christian Lynn, before falling, 9-8 (8-3). In the number three spot, Webster and Lewis Young (Salisbury, NC, Salisbury High School) had their four match winning streak snapped, falling 8-4. The pair finished the season 4-2.

With Roanoke's season over, they will hold the number seven seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. The Maroons will face the number two seed in the quarterfinals, which are scheduled for April 21st, at the higher seed.
