Roanoke Drops Match to #22 Washington and Lee
SALEM - The Roanoke College men's tennis team ran in to a tough test in #22 ranked Washington and Lee on Thursday evening. Roanoke fell in the ODAC competition by the score of 7-2. The Maroons now have a record of 3-1, 1-1 in ODAC play, while the Generals are now 3-2, 1-0 in the ODAC.

The Maroons battled in doubles competition, but fell at all three spots. James Lee and Matt Kessler fell to Michael Holt and Taylor Shamshiri in #1 doubles 8-3. Jacob Morris and Chris Migliarese also fell in doubles action by the score of 8-3, while Ian Webster and Lewis Young dropped their match to Sam Borowsky and Ford Martin, 8-6.

In singles action, Webster (6-2; 6-4) and Jacob Morris (7-5; 7-6) picked up Roanoke's only two singles wins in #5 and #6 singles, respectively. Migliarese came up just short of winning Roanoke's third match, falling 7-6; 7-5. Kessler, Lee and Young fell in the top three singles positions.

The Maroons return to action on March 3-5 as they travel to Hilton Head, SC to play in three spring break matches. Their first match is on Sunday, March 3rd as they take on Catawba College.
