SALEM - The Roanoke College men's tennis team continues to open the 2013 season unbeaten, defeating Averett University 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon. The Maroons extend their record to 3-0, 1-0 ODAC, while the Cougars are 0-2 on the year.

The Maroons opened up the afternoon with a 3-0 mark in doubles play. James Lee and Matt Kessler defeated Alexander Terentiev and Julius Noreila 8-2 in #1 doubles. In #2 doubles, Chris Migliarese and Jake Morris took down Ryan Atkins and Vili Korpela 8-1, while Lewis Young and Ian Webster blanked Matius Partanen and David Kelley in the #3 position.

Kessler and Terentiev split the first two sets during #1 singles, but Kessler came back around in the third winning the match, 6-3; 4-6; 10-7. Lee took on Noreila in #2 singles, and won 6-1; 6-0. Young, Migliarese, Webster and Morris won their matches by the score of 6-0; 6-0 in #3-#6 singles, respectively.

The Maroons return to action on Thursday, February 28^th as the Maroons host #20 Washington and Lee at the Elizabeth Campus Courts in Salem. That match is scheduled for a 3:00 PM start.
