Men's Tennis Picked Seventh in 2014 Preseason Poll
FOREST, Va. --- Washington and Lee University received 10 first place votes towards 100 total points to lead the 2014 ODAC Men's Tennis Preseason Poll.  Bridgewater College collected 83 tallies to hold down second position, while Virginia Wesleyan College is third with 75 points.  Guilford College picked up the remaining first place nod and 68 points to rank fourth in the annual coach's survey.

Roanoke College (9-8, 5-5) is under new leadership with Jim Schaefer serving as head coach at RC. The Maroons return experienced players, including Matthew Kessler (8-8, 7-6 at #1) at #1/2 singles.  Chris Migliarese (5-11, 5-6 at #4), Jake Morris (11-6, 9-2 at #6) and Lewis Young (3-13, 3-9 at #3) each spent time at several flight positions.

The Maroons open their season on February 13 as they host their home opener against Greensboro College at the Elizabeth Campus Courts.  That contest is scheduled for a 2:30 PM start.  Roanoke returns to action on February 22nd playing again at home against Ferrum College.  On February 28th, the Maroons have their Old Dominion Athletic Conference opener against Guilford College in Greensboro, NC.

On March 3rd, Roanoke travels down to Hilton Head, SC where the team will play in its annual Spring Break matches.  The Maroons will take on Elizabethtown College, St. John Fisher College, Wilkes University and the University of Mount Union over the course of three days.
