Men's Tennis Sweeps Greensboro College, 9-0
SALEM – The Roanoke College men's tennis team defeated Greensboro College 9-0 on Monday afternoon.  The Maroons have opened the season with a record of 2-0, while the Pride sits with a mark of 0-5.
 
Head Coach Jim Schaefer has started his collegiate coaching career at Roanoke College with a 2-0 start.  On Sunday, the Maroons defeated The University of Virginia's College at Wise 7-2, then bested Greensboro the next day with a 9-0 win.
 
The Maroons opened up doubles action with a 3-0 sweep.  The #1 doubles team of Joey Ros and Matt Kessler defeated Matt Troy and Kyle Gatti 8-5.  Chris Miglarese and Jacob Morris played at #2 doubles, picking up a victory over Matt Miller and Tyler McLenmore, 8-2.  Louis Young and Charlie Graves finished things off at #3 doubles, besting Ian Weiner and Chris Espinoza, 8-4.
 
Joey Ross won his #1 singles match against Miller, 6-2; 6-0.  Kessler played in the #2 singles position, defeating Troy, 6-1; 6-1.  Chris Migliarese earned a victory over Gatti 6-3; 7-6 (7-1).  Morris played in the #4 singles spot, winning with a mark of 6-2; 6-2.  At #5 singles, Young had to play a second set tiebreaker to defeat Weiner 6-1; 7-6 (7-2).  Graves rounded the match out against Espinoza winning at #6 singles against Charlie Espinoza, 6-1, 6-2.
 
The Maroons return to action on March 28th as the Maroons open ODAC tennis action against Guilford College on the road.  That match is scheduled for a 3:00 PM start.
