Men's Tennis Edged By Hampden-Sydney, 5-4
SALEM – The Roanoke College men's tennis team fell in a tight match against Old Dominion Athletic Conference opponent, Hampden-Sydney, 5-4 on Thursday.  The Maroons now have a record of 4-4, 0-4 ODAC, while the Tigers are 2-2 with a 2-0 mark in the ODAC.
 
The Maroons got out to a good start in the match, taking two of three doubles matches.  Joey Ross and Jacob Morris defeated the #1 doubles team of JB Weaver and Fitzhuhh Johnson in a long 9-7 victory.  Matt Kessler and Chris Migliarese also were victorious at #2 doubles, defeating Trent Singleton and David Dodson, 8-5.
 
In singles action, Joey Ross topped Weaver at #1 singles in three sets, 5-7; 6-1; 6-0.  Kessler and Morris each fell in their respective singles matches, with Kessler falling at #2 7-5; 0-6; 2-6.  Roanoke's fourth singles win came at the #4 spot.  Migliarese topped Singleton in straight sets 6-3; 6-4.  Lewis Young, playing #5, took Lawrence Bowers to three sets, with the first two being a tight 7-6; 5-7 margin.
 
The Maroons return to action on Thursday, March 27th as they host Lynchburg College in a make-up match from earlier this week.  The match is scheduled for a 3:00 PM start.
