Men's Tennis Wins Third Straight, Defeats Shenandoah 5-4
WINCHESTER – The Roanoke College men's tennis team edged past the Hornets of Shenandoah University on Sunday, 5-4. The Maroons now have a record of 8-5 on the season with a 4-5 mark in ODAC play, while the Hornets are 3-10 overall with a 1-9 record in the ODAC.

Roanoke has now won four of its last five Old Dominion Athletic Conference matches leading into the regular season finale against Bridgewater College on April 14th.

Shenandoah swept the doubles action in the match, winning at #1 and #2 by the tight score of 8-6. The Hornets also won #3 doubles, 8-5.

However, it was singles action where the Maroons came alive. Joey Ross won at #1 singles, 5-7; 6-3; 6-0 against Steven Baker. Matt Kessler also won a three set match at #2 singles, defeating Dustan DeMello 1-6; 6-3; 6-4. Jacob Morris and Lewis Young each won at #3 and #4 by the scores of 6-3; 6-4, respectively. The win was sealed with a #5 singles victory by Chris Teeple, who defeated Kelly Sykes 6-1; 6-2.

The Maroons are back in action on April 14th against Bridgewater College on the road. That match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
