SALEM – The Roanoke College men's tennis team defeated Randolph-Macon at the Elizabeth Campus Courts on Saturday by the score of 5-4.  The Maroons have a record of 8-8, 4-4 in ODAC play, while the Yellow Jackets are 8-5, 5-4 in the ODAC.
 
Roanoke started with two out of three wins in doubles action.  Matt Kessler and Jacob Morris defeated Ryan Byrd and Ira Usry 8-6 in #1 doubles.  Chris Teeple and Matt Delgreco also defeated Alex Curnow and Tom Lewis 8-3 in #3 doubles.
 
In singles action, Joey Ross topped Ryan Byrd 6-2, 6-3 in #1 singles action.  Matt Kessler won at #2 singles, defeating Conner Huerr in a tight three set match, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.  Jose Alvarado also won at #5 singles by besting Alex Carnow 6-0, 7-5.
 
The Maroons return to action on Sunday, April 19^th as they play a make-up match against Lynchburg College at the Elizabeth Campus Courts.  That match is scheduled for a 2:30 PM start.
